Introducing Dr. Steve Osborne

My name is Stephen Osborne and I was born in Levin, New Zealand. On completing secondary school I attended the University of Otago Dunedin to study Science and after some ten years in the workforce completed my Bachelor of Science at the University of Auckland. I undertook my Chiropractic studies at RMIT University in Melbourne graduating in 1998.

My wife Liz and I have two young men Michael and Regan, and a young daughter, Sharyn. I enjoy spending quality time with my family in outdoor activities and camping. We have found Toowoomba to be a great place to raise a family and educate our children and are close to Liz’s family in Brisbane. Grandparents are such wonderful assets!

I was originally inspired to become a Chiropractor because of the opportunity to fulfil a lifelong desire to help people through effective healthcare. My first exposure to Chiropractic was when my father had severe low back pain following a lifting injury. Chiropractic was able to provide him with the only relief from almost constant, severe pain. I also experienced the amazing benefit of Chiropractic myself after several years of heavy physical work in a job that placed a lot of stress on my low back. At about this same time a friend and long time chiropractic patient who knew of my desire to help people suggested that I should study Chiropractic. Even though it required a move from Auckland, New Zealand to Melbourne with a young family, I am thankful we made the choice and commitment to do so as I daily derive great pleasure and reward in seeing improvement in people’s health and well-being.

I believe that Chiropractic promotes health and the body’s ability to respond appropriately to the physical, emotional and chemical stresses of life by restoring balance to the whole body. I have great confidence in how I practice and I am always seeking to improve this through learning and revising new techniques and by exploring those I already use, especially the Neuro Emotional Technique becoming a Certified Practitioner in 2002.

My personal promise to you is to always give you the very best care I can.

Dr Steve Asks some important questions of interest to Toowoomba residents - Chiropractor Toowoomba Dr Steve Asks...

Would you rather feel good or be healthy?
Ask most people in Toowoomba and they want to feel good. Careful! Would you take medicine that makes you feel good, rather than vomit to expel improperly prepared food? Every chiropractic practice member knows that you can't measure your health by how you feel. True health is when your body works as it should.
How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
